I believe that certain light infantry can use fougasse mines (or whatever defensive structure they can build) whenever they want, though, but I haven't seen this for myself.Īll in all, I think that there are some wonky aspects to this mod, but I didn't have to look far past those details to have a great time that's simultaneously pretty immersive. EMPIRE TOTAL WAR IMPERIAL DESTROYER PLUSSpeaking of dragoons, the only change I don't like is that the modders completely removed the option for cavalry to dismount, even dragoons, but on the plus side, all dragoons can fire from horseback so they're essentially just missile cavalry. Cavalry strength has in general been increased, but not dragoon strength, which are actually pretty weak in melee. This, imo, allows more room for strategy in a battle. Range for small arms is greatly increased, but it's very inaccurate at long range (obviously). I love plotting my next move on the campaign map while Pachelbel plays.Īs far as battles, there are a lot of changes, most that I personally like. And I love the classical and baroque music in the background. Unit names and special units are kinda weird, but it brings a lot of variation to, if nothing else, uniforms. It adds regions in the empty parts in North America, between Russia and Persia, another region in Arabia, and also in the Indonesian trading theatre, in addition to some new factions like Rajpootana, the Cree, Don Voisko and other Indian/Middle Eastern/Native American factions (I don't know how historically accurate they are, but it adds a little more diversity to the East/West). The tech tree is a little wonky, but still makes sense. ![]() Rebellions are much easier to have, from my limited experience, which frankly, I like.
